United Kingdom Announces Intent to Ratify UPC Agreement

On Monday, November 28, the UK government announced its intent to ratify the Unified Patent Court Agreement, in spite of its Brexit plans. That will permit the court to open and the European Patent Office to begin granting Unitary Patents in 2017. Continued UK participation in the court and Unitary Patent after Brexit will have to be negotiated later. Stay tuned to Fish's Patent Blog for further developments.
