Don't Panic! A Trademark Owner's Guide to the New Generic Top-Level Domain Names and the Trademark Clearinghouse
Thursday, April 4, 2013
1:00 PM ET
Via the web
The opening of the Trademark Clearinghouse on March 26 does not trigger any deadlines, and we are still months away from any domain names becoming available in any new generic top-level domains (gTLDs). While there is no immediate need to record any information in the Clearinghouse, it is time to get serious and develop a strategy for what to do, including considering alternatives to the Clearinghouse that might provide a better value for monitoring domain name registrations by others.
This complimentary one-hour webinar will discuss the role of the Trademark Clearinghouse in protecting your marks in the new gTLDs, focusing on:
- "Sunrise" domain name registrations
- "Claims" service
- "Uniform Rapid Suspension" policy
- Specific rules and procedures for recording marks in the Clearinghouse
- Benefits of third-party watch services over the Clearinghouse for monitoring
- Tips on how to evaluate what is best for your company's marks
