Nguyen discussed the increasing influence of non-practicing entity (NPE) litigation in the semiconductor industry, particularly as it undergoes consolidation. Nguyen noted a rising trend of NPEs asserting end-of-life patents and anticipates this pattern will persist.

Excerpt: “We’ve already seen a shift and I think in the next two or three years we’re going to see the peak of this activity in venues like the Eastern District of Texas. So as far as our practice goes, we’re looking to be more active in those types of districts against those types of patents.”
