3 Firms Dominate In IP Litigation, GCs Say

Finnegan Henderson Farabow Garrett & Dunner LLP, Fish & Richardson PC and WilmerHale are the top three firms that in-house counsel turn to in high-stakes intellectual property litigation, having earned trust through unparalleled technical expertise and winning track records, according to a new survey.
Drawing on interviews with 300 corporate counsel, BTI Consulting Group Inc. of Wellesley, Massachusetts, anointed the three firms as its IP litigation "powerhouses," who are best-positioned to benefit from continuing growth in the area fueled by aggressive plaintiffs and increasing international exposure and activity.
Along with class actions, IP litigation is one of only two practice areas that is expected to pull in more dollars in 2015 over this year, with spending projected to increase 2.1 percent to $2.95 billion. This moderate growth will be buoyed by the increasingly strategic nature of IP litigation, but also held in check by a rising tendency toward settlements, according to the BTI Litigation Outlook 2015 report.
