Attorney Jonathan Singer named Attorney of the Year by Minnesota Lawyer
December 10, 2009 – For the second time in three years, Principal Jonathan Singer, who heads Fish’s pharmaceutical litigation practice, has been selected as an Attorney of the Year by Minnesota Lawyer. Mr. Singer was selected based on his work securing a victory for client Allergan in its patent infringement suit against Apotex and Exela. Hanging in the balance: a multi-million dollar market for Allergan’s glaucoma drug Alphagan® P. After a March 2009 bench trial in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, the court found that the generic brimonidine products proposed by defendants "literally infringe the asserted claims of the patents-in-suit" and that the patents asserted by Allegan are valid and enforceable against the defendants. The result: Allergan can protect its market for Alphagan® P and continue to fund the research and development needed to find new and better treatments for glaucoma. This selection comes on the heels of Mr. Singer’s 2007 selection as one of the Attorneys of the Year for his win for client Repligen earlier that year. To read the full article, click here.
