Fish Attorney Ruffin B. Cordell Inducted into American College of Trial Lawyers

Washington, D.C., November 19, 2012 - Fish & Richardson announced today that Ruffin B. Cordell, a principal in the firm's Washington, D.C. office, has been inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, one of the premier legal associations in America.

Fellowship in the College is extended by invitation only to those trial lawyers with at least 15 years trial experience who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility, and collegiality. Less than one percent of attorneys in each state are admitted to the College.

At Fish, Cordell's practice emphasizes all aspects of intellectual property litigation, including patent and trade secret cases. He regularly serves as lead counsel in major patent litigation matters before the International Trade Commission (Section 337 proceedings) and in district courts throughout the country. In 2011, Cordell was recognized as a leading litigator in Intellectual Asset Magazine's international patent litigation survey. Cordell was also named one of the "Top 50 Under 45" attorneys by IP Law & Business, one of the "Top Lawyers: Intellectual Property" by Washingtonian, and a Chambers USA Best Lawyers in America from 2006-2012. He received his J.D., magna cum laude, Order of the Coif, from Georgetown University Law Center and his B.S., Tau Beta Pi, in electrical engineering from Louisiana State University.
