Fish Ranks #1 in PCT Application Filing Worldwide
Fish & Richardson ranked #1 in Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) applications worldwide in a recent survey published by Managing IP. The survey is the first time that patent firms have been ranked based on number of PCT applications filed. With 839 PCT applications, Fish was 152 filings ahead of the next closest firm. Fish was also ranked #1 in the US.
“Our #1 ranking is a reflection of the hard work of our attorneys and the trust that our clients place in us as as a global leader in the patent practice.” said Rick Anderson, Fish’s Patent Practice Group Leader.
Corporate Counsel, a leading in-house legal counsel magazine, also recently recognized Fish’s patent practice ranking Fish as one of the top intellectual property law firm for America’s largest corporations in it’s eighth annual survey of “Who Represents America’s Biggest Companies?”
The PCT is an international agreement for filing patent applications that simplifies the process of filing patent applications. Under the PCT, an inventor can file a single international patent application in one language with one patent office in order to simultaneously seek protection for an invention in the PCT member countries. A high number of PCT filing indicates that the firm does work for global companies that sell their products internationally.
