Fish & Richardson Named to Bloomberg Law’s 2024 Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Framework

For the fourth consecutive year, Bloomberg Law has named Fish & Richardson to its annual Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Framework. Fish is one of 57 U.S.-based law firms to be recognized this year for meeting or exceeding an established threshold for diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The Bloomberg Law DEI Framework recognizes firms for their level of disclosure of diversity-related metrics and distinguished performance against six core pillars: demographics, leadership and talent pipeline, recruitment and retention, business innovation and strategy, marketing, and diversity and inclusion in the community. Submissions to this year’s DEI Framework increased by 15%, the third year in a row of double-digit growth, providing an even more robust view of diversity in the legal industry.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion are integral to Fish's identity; the firm's long-term commitment to building and sustaining a diverse and inclusive workforce is exemplified in our Diversity Strategic Plan, which provides benchmarks to promote a respectful and inclusive environment that values the diversity of people, experiences, capabilities, and perspectives. Elevating the diverse backgrounds at Fish ensures that all perspectives support and enhance the quality of legal services we provide to our clients.

Recent steps towards advancing our DEI goals include holding our second biennial People of Color retreat in 2024 and, in 2023, launching School of Fish, a program designed to educate undergraduate and graduate students from underrepresented communities on the field of intellectual property law.

In 2023, Fish received the highest designation of Mansfield Rule, 6.0 Certified Plus, from Diversity Lab for successfully reaching at least 30% diverse lawyer representation in a notable number of current leadership roles. The firm also scored a 95 out of 100 on the 2023-2024 Corporate Equality Index.
