Fish & Richardson Names Chris Bowley, Ph.D., as Managing Principal of Silicon Valley Office

Fish & Richardson Principal Chris Bowley, Ph.D., has been named the managing principal of the firm’s Silicon Valley office. He succeeds Principal Michael Headley, who served in the role for eight years. The Silicon Valley office – one of three Fish locations in California – houses 33 intellectual property attorneys and technology specialists.

“I am delighted that Chris has assumed this position," said John C. Adkisson, president and CEO of Fish. “Our Silicon Valley office is an incredibly important part of the firm’s fabric and future and Chris has just the right skills and vision to lead that office moving forward.”

Bowley’s practice focuses on patent prosecution and counseling, patent strategy and analysis, and the development and management of patent portfolios. With a Ph.D. in physics, Bowley readily grasps the technical nuances of client innovations. He has broad experience spanning numerous fields in the physical sciences, including semiconductors, optics & photonics, medical devices, and advanced materials.

Before joining Fish, Bowley was a senior research physicist at 3M Co. Bowley earned his M.S. and Ph.D. in physics from Brown University and obtained his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School.
