Four Technology Specialists Join Fish & Richardson in the First Half of 2024

Fish & Richardson proudly introduces four new technology specialists who joined the firm in the first half of 2024. 

John Bowler: Bowler specializes in patent prosecution across medical, mechanical, and computer engineering domains. His expertise stems from diverse technologies, including medical devices, computer software, artificial technology, and wireless communications, among others. Bowler graduated from Duke University with a B.S. in mechanical engineering. 

Sergio Flores: Flores’ practice centers on patent drafting and prosecution, with a focus on artificial intelligence and machine learning. Prior to joining Fish, Flores contributed to JP Morgan Chase’s artificial intelligence and machine learning business modeling team. He received his Ph.D. in theoretical chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, and a B.S. in Chemistry from Haverford College.  

Jialin Wang: Wang focuses his practice on patent prosecution in the electrical and computer technology industry. He has deep experience in research, simulation, device design, fabrication, and characterization of compound semiconductor devices. Wang received his M.S. and B.S. in electrical and computer engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. 

Yongan “Allen” Yuan, Ph.D.: Yuan’s practice centers on patent preparation and prosecution in the chemical and life sciences industries. Yuan’s technical expertise includes organic chemistry and catalysis, drug discovery and formulation development, microelectronics, and medical devices, among others. Before entering law, Yuan was a scientist at major chemical companies. He received his Ph.D. and M.S. in synthetic and organometallic chemistry from Georgia State University and his B.S. in chemistry from Ocean University in China.
