New Chinese Character Domain Names to be Internationalized

The Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited (HKIRC) is launching a new Chinese character internationalized domain name on May 31, 2011.

There will be a pre-launch priority registration period from February 22, 2011 to March 10, 2011. Holders of an existing non-Chinese character domain name in Hong Kong (e.g. BRAND.com.hk), which was registered before January 31, 2011, will have priority to apply for a new [Chinese characters] domain name. The two domain names will be bundled together to have the same contact and registration particulars. They must also be maintained, renewed or transferred together.
