Fish & Richardson Principal Aamir Kazi Receives On the Rise Award from the Daily Report
Fish & Richardson principal Aamir Kazi has been selected for the Daily Report's "On the Rise" award, which recognizes lawyers under age 40 who have exhibited influence in their practice areas in Georgia and beyond. Kazi was chosen for his trial expertise, leadership qualities, and civic contributions, and was one of only 14 attorneys singled out for the award. He will be honored at an event in Atlanta on June 20, 2019.
Kazi specializes in intellectual property litigation and counseling with an emphasis on patent litigation. He has litigated in district courts around the country and at the U.S. International Trade Commission, and has achieved successful results both at trial and at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. Kazi is called upon by clients for his unique combination of legal skills and technical acumen.
In the community, Kazi volunteers his time with the Atlanta branch of the Chicago-based nonprofit IMAN and has been involved with the IMAN Atlanta branch since its inception in 2016. IMAN focuses on health, social change, and criminal justice reform, and provides transitional housing and job training for formerly incarcerated men and high-risk youth. Kazi currently serves on IMAN Atlanta's Advisory Board, and plays an integral role in fundraising and strategic planning.
Kazi has also taken on many pro bono cases with the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation. He worked with the Georgia Innocence Project to represent a Georgia inmate, advocating on his behalf before the Georgia Supreme Court and the Eleventh Circuit.
At Fish, Kazi represents the Atlanta office on the firm's national Diversity Committee. In 2017, he was among 250 attorneys nationwide selected for the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity's Fellows program. He has been recognized multiple times as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers.
