Lauren Degnan named National Law Journal "Litigation Trailblazer"
Fish & Richardson is pleased to announce that Principal Lauren Degnan has been named a 2021 "Litigation Trailblazer" by the National Law Journal. The managing principal of Fish's Washington, D.C., office, Degnan is a seasoned trial and appellate lawyer who handles high-stakes, high-risk IP disputes in federal district courts, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the International Trade Commission (ITC), and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). Degnan is one of just 25 attorneys to be honored with this recognition nationwide.
National Law Journal selected Degnan for her outstanding work in Federal Circuit appeals, which Degnan noted are particularly important "because every case cements, clarifies, or refines the law for lower courts/venues." The journal acknowledged her recent reversal of a PTAB decision that had invalidated her client's turbine engine patent, as well as her leadership in a multi-patent, multi-jurisdiction infringement dispute that ultimately led to the ITC suspending an exclusion order against her client.
A well-known thought leader, Degnan speaks frequently on the topics of patent litigation and PTAB appeals. In addition to her legal practice, she dedicates her time to mentoring young lawyers within Fish and encouraging women who are interested in STEM to pursue careers in the field.
