Principals Megan Chacon and Alex Gelberg Recognized as Leaders of Influence in Law by the San Diego Business Journal

Fish & Richardson is pleased to share that the San Diego Business Journal has included Principals Megan Chacon and Alex Gelberg in its 2024 list of Leaders of Influence in Law, which recognizes the contributions and commitment of attorneys who live and work in San Diego County.

Chacon leverages a background in chemical engineering to represent clients in complex patent litigation across a wide range of technologies, including life sciences and pharmaceuticals. Outside of her litigation practice, Chacon is dedicated to mentoring junior attorneys, especially women and people of color, and manages Fish’s San Diego associates as a group leader. In her pro bono practice, she works with organizations including the ACLU of San Diego and the Alliance for Children’s Rights in immigration, guardianship, and adoption matters. Chacon frequently publishes content and hosts webinars on life sciences topics.

As a patent litigator, trial lawyer, and counselor, Gelberg represents clients in U.S. District Courts, the International Trade Commission, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He has litigated — including through trial and appeal — many patent cases involving a wide variety of technologies, including telecommunications, electro-chemical devices, networking technology, and medical devices. His recent notable work includes representing multiple Fortune 100 clients in global patent disputes involving cellular communication technology and standard essential patents. Gelberg maintains an active pro bono practice focusing on immigration and civil rights causes.

This year’s Leaders of Influence in Law are featured in the October 28 edition of the San Diego Business Journal.
