Three Fish Principals Named to Daily Journal’s 2023 “Top Intellectual Property Lawyers” List
The Daily Journal has named Principals Juanita Brooks, Betty Chen, and Jonathan Singer to its 2023 list of “Top Intellectual Property Lawyers.” This annual list recognizes the top lawyers in California who have made a significant impact on IP law.
Brooks is a nationally recognized trial and appellate attorney who focuses on complex intellectual property, product liability, and mass tort litigation. She has handled more than 150 trials in her career. Named Litigator of the Year by American Lawyer and an inductee to the California State Bar Litigation Section’s Trial Lawyer Hall of Fame (among many other honors), her stellar record and impressive reputation have made Brooks one of the most sought-after IP trial lawyers in the country.
Chen has successfully represented industry-leading clients across a spectrum of industries and a wide range of technologies, ranging from medical devices to semiconductors. An innovative, strategic thinker with vast courtroom experience and a deep understanding of both technology and the law, Chen has won jury cases and obtained favorable case-dispositive court rulings in federal District Courts and state courts across the country, before the International Trade Commission, and in arbitrations.
Singer founded Fish's life sciences litigation practice and focuses his practice on high-stakes pharmaceutical and Hatch-Waxman litigation. He regularly leads jury and bench trials in District Court, tries cases to administrative and arbitration panels, and conducts briefing and arguments before the Courts of Appeals and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. Singer's clients consistently praise his innovative and ground-breaking work and over the past two decades, he has successfully handled dozens of cases covering all aspects of the life sciences.
