Fish Win for Power Integrations Named a "Top IP Verdict of 2014" by Law360

Boston, MA, July 14, 2014 - Fish & Richardson today announced that the $105 million jury verdict it won for client Power Integrations has been named one of the "Top IP Verdicts of 2014" by Law360.

Fish won the case for San Jose, CA-based Power Integrations in March in federal district court in San Francisco, with a jury finding that Fairchild Semiconductor willfully infringed Power Integrations' patents for controller chips used in energy-efficient power supplies and chargers (Power Integrations Inc. v. Fairchild Semiconductor International Inc. et al.). Fish principals Frank Scherkenbach, Howard Pollack, and Michael Headley handled the case.

Fish has represented Power Integrations in litigation against Fairchild and its subsidiaries since 2004, securing victories in a series of cases in a number of courts, including obtaining injunctions against over 175 infringing Fairchild products. Over the course of the litigation, courts have repeatedly affirmed the validity of Power Integrations' patents. Other victories include district court verdicts against Fairchild in 2006 (one of the "Top 100 Verdicts" that year) and 2012, and a 2006 victory against Fairchild at the ITC, which the Federal Circuit subsequently affirmed.
