Alexander R. Mazza focuses his practice on patent litigation in the life sciences, with an emphasis on pharmaceuticals and biotechnology.
As an associate at Fish & Richardson, Alexander combines his criminal law background with his first-hand experience in clinical research and his formal education in biology and computer science.
Before joining the firm, Alexander served in the United States Marine Corps as a lawyer. During his service he represented the United States as a prosecutor and also had the opportunity to represent victims of violent crime and sexual assault as a victims’ attorney. He appeared in court regularly, gaining first-chair trial experience and working with expert witnesses.
Prior to law school, Alexander coordinated industry-sponsored and physician-led clinical trials. He has experience with clinical studies from conception to publication of results. He worked directly with pharmaceutical companies, physicians, and patients in studies related to oncology and bone marrow transplant.
His interests include studying the Japanese language and practicing martial arts.
