Claire Xue, Ph.D., represents clients in litigation matters pertaining to a range of technologies, including in the fields of mechanical engineering and physics. As a former Federal Circuit clerk, she also lends her deep understanding of appellate practice and procedure to the firm’s Appellate Group.
Claire’s experience includes legal research and writing. As a research assistant at Stanford Law School, she researched case law and statutes and performed literature review for the updated edition of Tort Law and Alternatives: Cases and Materials. Additionally, as a student in Stanford Law School’s Juelsgaard Intellectual Property and Innovation Clinic, she advised a client on copyright protection for video games and reverse-engineered code.
From 2023 to 2024, Claire served as a law clerk to the Hon. Richard G. Taranto of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and from 2022 to 2023, she clerked for the Hon. Richard G. Andrews of the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware.
Claire's doctoral research focused on international trade and innovation, including patenting flows between countries.
In her leisure time, Claire enjoys birding, hiking, and running, and she is an accomplished violinist.
