With over 17 years of experience in law firm risk management, Elham Dehbozorgi brings a deep understanding of the complexities involved in managing legal risk within law firms.
As chief legal risk officer, Elham is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing innovative strategies to ensure that the firm effectively and efficiently achieves the highest standards of professional ethics.
As leader of the firm’s Risk Management and Conflicts teams, Elham manages client and new matter intake, conflicts analysis, regulatory and legal compliance, and records management. She works closely with our attorneys to establish standards and procedures to ensure effective and compliant business intake and risk management programs. She takes pride in creating a culture of collaboration and serving as a trusted advisor to the firm’s leadership, attorneys, and operations staff.
Elham has an extensive background in law firm risk management and compliance. Prior to joining Fish & Richardson, she was general counsel of an intellectual property law firm in Washington, D.C., and was previously an attorney in the office of the general counsel for two different Am Law 50 law firms.
Outside of the firm, Elham is a member of the District of Columbia Bar's Legal Ethics Committee, a group leading the charge on many of the most critical ethical issues facing the legal industry. She is also a frequent speaker on emerging issues of ethics and professional responsibility that impact the legal profession, including cybersecurity and the ethical use of generative artificial intelligence tools.
In her free time, Elham enjoys traveling to spots around the world with her family, running in Rock Creek Park, and playing a good round of Wordle.
