Overview

Hunter Morrissey assists clients across a wide range of industries to create and protect their trademarks.

Prior to joining Fish & Richardson, Hunter worked as a trademark examining attorney for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), where his responsibilities included examining U.S. and international trademark applications; analyzing compliance with procedural and statutory requirements; researching and applying statutory law, case law, regulations, rules, examination guidelines, and office policies in issuing office actions; and resolving trademark prosecution issues with outside counsel and pro se applicants. Drawing from this experience, he now applies a valuable insider’s perspective when guiding his trademark clients in their own navigation of the USPTO.

During law school, Hunter participated in the University of California, Hastings Moot Court Team. He garnered numerous recognitions and awards for his work in moot court competitions, including the National Championship and Best Brief Award at the International Trademark Association’s Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court Competition in 2022.

When he’s not at work, Hunter enjoys playing soccer and exploring the best music and food the Bay Area has to offer.
