Overview

Jamilla Holomon provides patent prosecution services and strategic counsel to clients in the computer technology and electrical engineering industries, with a particular focus on innovations in the machine learning and autonomous vehicles space. 

Experienced in serving clients across all stages of the patent lifecycle, Jamilla is proficient in preparing and prosecuting U.S. and foreign patent applications, responding to office actions, handling examiner interviews, reviewing prior art, and conducting due diligence. Her prosecution practice is informed by her additional experience in patent litigation and in all aspects of trademark and copyright registration. Jamilla has worked with clients spanning a wide range of industries and technologies, including autonomous vehicles, software, medical imaging systems, graphics rendering, and oil and gas. 

Jamilla’s work is characterized by a judicious, service-oriented approach to her clients’ tough legal questions. With a knack for grasping the big picture and attaining a thorough understanding of a situation before offering her opinion, Jamilla equips clients with thoughtful, holistic counsel that takes into account their business needs and goals. 

Prior to beginning her legal career, Jamilla worked as a guidance and navigation engineer for a spaceflight operations company. She has a deep appreciation for the engineering world’s quest to find solutions for pressing problems, and she considers it a privilege to partner with clients in this process as she guides them in building and protecting the patent portfolios behind their innovative technologies. 

When she’s not practicing law, Jamilla can often be found in her garden, where she is cultivating a pineapple plant and lemon and orange trees.
