Ying (Sheila) Chen focuses her practice on patent drafting, prosecution, and counseling in electrical and software technologies.
She has extensive experience drafting patent applications, preparing responses to office actions from the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the China National Intellectual Property Administration, performing freedom to operate analyses, conducting patent due diligence, and drafting and reviewing contracts. She also has experience assisting in patent litigation, including preserving evidence, working with R&D personnel to develop technical positions, preparing claim charts, managing discovery, and conducting infringement analyses.
With a technical background in material physics, Sheila is well-versed in the technological fields of semiconductors, electrical devices, chemical formulations, cleantech, and battery manufacturing.
