Steffen Lake focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation. He is experienced with multiple stages of litigation in U.S. District Courts, state courts, and U.S. International Trade Commission proceedings.
He has experience litigating technologies such as agrochemicals, mobile phone applications, videoconferencing devices, automobile parts, optics, and image processing software. In addition, Steffen is a registered patent attorney who assists clients in managing various post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. Steffen was previously a summer associate at Fish & Richardson in 2017 and 2018, where he worked on matters involving telecommunications, internet and 5G technology, and biotechnology patents.
Prior to his legal career, Steffen worked across a broad range of technologies, ranging from high-energy physics research to in-home air quality product testing.

UPL v. Tide International (USA) et al. (C.D. Cal.) – Represented Tide in defense of chemical patent asserted by UPL; case dismissed after successful inter partes review.
