Will Bootle represents clients in patent litigation matters and post-grant proceedings spanning a wide range of electrical and computer technologies, including telecommunications, machine learning, computer vision, autonomous vehicles, and mobile payments.
Will draws on his tenure as a judicial law clerk at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (2023-2024) to provide clients with unique insights into post-grant proceedings. While at the Board, Willdetailed in the Office of the Director of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, where he worked on Director Review decisions and patent policy initiatives.Willalso leverages his experience in resolving patent validity disputesto represent clients in other forums, including U.S. District Courts and the International Trade Commission.
Prior to joining Fish & Richardson, Will drafted and prosecuted patent applications, and this experience helps him understand a patent’s prosecution history and develop strategies to attack or defend a patent’s validity and claim scope during litigation. Will has also handled patent cases before U.S. District Courts and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
When he’s not at work, Will can be found golfing, skiing, or cheering on the South Carolina Gamecocks.
